About our Community

Miamisburg,  a southwest suburb of Dayton, is a thriving community which retains the character and peacefulness of an historical past while improving and planning for the future.

Centuries ago, the Adena Indians chose this location because of the easy access across the Great Miami River.  A reminder of their existence is a burial mound located in one of our city parks.  The rich history of our community is constantly being taught and explored by our active historical society.  Many of our church members are active in this and many other community projects.

Miamisburg is a growing community that provides activities for the children and youth as well as its senior citizens.  Miamisburg offers a downtown business district which boasts shopping, dining, entertainment, and service businesses.  We have 17 city parks, two golf courses, and  a newly completed Aquatic Center (swimming pool).   We have superior fire, police and emergency services employed on a full time basis.

Less than 10 minutes away is the 125-store Dayton Mall and other nearby shops.  There is also easy access to Interstates 75 and 675.

Our excellent school system is made up of 5 elementary schools (K-5), one mid-high (6th grade), one junior high (7 & 8)  and one high school (9-12.  The community is very supportive of the schools' extra-curricular activities.  Our schools offer a low student to teacher ratio and more than 70 percent of Miamisburg graduates continue to further their education.  University of Dayton, Wright State University and Sinclair Community College are all a short distance away.
